High quality plates
procured from reputed mills from India & overseas
are checked in test Lab for chemical & physical
properties and verified with the test certificates.
Plates are trimmed and bevelled on both longitudinal
edges as per manufacturing code to ensure that the edges
are parallel and even before being fed into the rolling
machine to convert them into perfect cylindrical shapes.
After
rolling, it is passed through post bending operation
prior to tack welding on set-up machine, a backing run
of CO2 welding is done on the entire length of pipes.
Inside and outside welding is done along the entire
length of the pipe by submerged arc welding (SAW) process
for a sound weld joint, free of any metallurgical defects.
Pipes are then passed through gauging presses for achieving
uniform specified dimensional tolerances. Pipe ends
are bevelled as per specified requirements.
Besides
hydrotesting, pipes are also tested by multi probe multi
channel on-line ultrasonic testing system with colourstrip
chart recorded and paintmarking device featured computerised
analyser imported from world's most reputed firm M/s.
Krautkramer, Germany and radiography as per code requirements.
Each pipe undergoes stringent quality control checks
at every stage of the entire process. |
